Yup, it's that time again. Here goes.




( SPOILERS. )

I'm in the middle of finals. I've got four coming up: Multimedia, Mythology, Speech, and Anthropology.

Anthropology I'm not too worried on.

Mythology . . . maybe. I gotta review a lot.

Speech . . . yikes. I might do OK on the final, but I might fail anyways due to my not getting stuff in during the semester.

Multimedia . . . AAAH! That's what I like to do most, and it's the most complicated, so why the hell haven't I started working on it yet?!? I keep wasting time! O_O;;;

(*sigh*) Sometimes I really hate this ADD. T_T (Yeah, I know, I shouldn't blame it solely on that, but . . . well. I'm feeling sorry for myself. Sue me.)

Furthermore, I'm in the middle of moving, so I'm going through some withdrawal from not being able to do some of my computer routines, because I have to help pack and move stuff. DX I don't have a computer at home, and there's a lot I do, so that's why I have such a schedule with it. (The computer's practically my life.)

I guess I could do more positive (or useful -- *cough*finals*COUGH*) things, but I have fun doing these kinds of tests and quizzes.

He's real easy-going, and he's not picky about whether homework is typed or not, so long as he can read it. (Cuz usually teachers, want "2 pages, 12-point font, double-spaced, # paragraphs, with [insert words] as a heading, etc, etc." Not with my Anthropology teacher. He was cool about how long it took for us to get our textbooks earlier in the semester as well (he knows students have it rough, so he makes it as easy as he can -- seriously).

Last week, I was flipping through my bag again and again trying to find the notebook that had my Anthropology homework in it . . . and eventually admitted the sad truth that I left that particular notebook at home. So I asked him if I could turn it in late the next class. His reply (said in kind of a slow, thoughtful way):

"Yyyyyes, you can . . . . . . but if you do . . . . . . . . then you have to admit . . . that you're not perfect."

(*snicker*) He's always saying stuff like that. XDDD

Anyways, why do I bring this up now? Because today he handed out a packet of about 15 pages of fill-in-the-blanks and spaces for drawing diagrams. The first thing we did was turn to the very last page to draw a rough map of an area with several different Hopi villages. . . . The next thing we did was turn to the second-to-last page to draw a rough diagram of one of those villages. . . . After that, he handed something else out that showed a pre-made blueprint of a house in a village.

I'm sure you noticed the pattern, cuz I did. I mentioned it to him: "Working our way backwards, eh?" And his reply (I love this line) was:

"Well, the first responsibility of the teacher is to confuse the student."

XDDDD I wasn't confused, but I very well could've been if I hadn't been paying attention, but do you ever feel this way in a class? Just goes to show that this guy knows how to look at other POVs. ^^

Do you have any secret behind your username (that you're willing to share)? Sometimes I find usernames that are silly, interesting, unusual, casual, etc. Some usernames are a little obvious, like they would have the name of someone's favorite character, like I-luv-Sasuke or XItaxNarux18X (I haven't seen any of these names, I don't even know if they exist, but I have seen similar names); those are fairly obvious (though I have no clue as to what the number could be).

On the other hand, I find names like (and these names do exist) askerian, Mijare, zrina, or my own name garmiet. And I often wonder what the secret behind those names are.

So if you're willing to share your secret . . . I'm all ears. ^_^



Huh? What's that?

Oh, you want to know about my username?

Well, I suppose it's only fair. (XD)

The honest truth is that I'm not sure where the name came from. It just popped into my head. However, I think it came from the shampoo commercials that I see on TV a lot: Garnier Fructis (pronounced GAR-nee-ay FROOK-teess). And the sound stuck in my head (I pronounce it the same way, except with an "M" instead of an "N"). As for why I chose to end it with a "t" instead of an "r", I just thought it looked interesting. And if I like to use the name Garmiet as part of a full name, my alias would be Juno Garmiet (cuz I like the name Juno). So yeah, those of you who didn't know I was a girl (it was obvious anyway) are now aware that I am, indeed, una femmina. ^_^;

By the way, not many people Watch me. And I'm curious about a lot of usernames. So spread the word if you don't mind. (If you do mind, no problem. ^^)

WHAT THE HELL!!

If there's not going to be a Naruto chapter this week, the least they can do is warn us ahead of time! I know everybody in Japan saw it coming, BUT NOT ALL AMERICANS DID!! Scanlators, Onemanga, Narutofan, whyyyyy couldn't you have warned us? (Or warned me, at least?) T_T T_T T_T T_T T_T

So, when I get really into something, I like to make connections/comparisons/contrasts/etc.

I made this list in my own personal journal on April 6. I thought I'd put it here.

I'll add interests as they come up, and cross ones off as they get confirmed (if they get confirmed).

I finished reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire this weekend. It was really good. I'm going to start rereading it, because some of the politics in it were confusing, and also some of the characters motives for doing things. But it's a really good read.

I have not seen the musical, but I have listened to the soundtrack and flipped through a book about it. It seems very different from the novel, not as serious or dark, but a good production all the same. The songs are excellent. The soundtrack is on my wishlist now. I simply must have it. ^_^

Idina Menzel has a kick-ass voice, it's awesome. She was amazing in Rent. Kristen Chenoweth has a hideous voice that makes me wanna shoot myself, but I've grown accustomed to it, and now I find it very comical for her role. And yet, it's truly amazing how she can sing like a mockingbird in the first song "No One Mourns The Wicked." The thing is, though, is apparently the voice she uses most of the time is real. Either that, or she just turns it on whenever there's a microphone around, because everywhere I've heard her talk, it sounds like that, and I'm like, "Aaargh!" But, like I said, I've grown accustomed to her singing on the soundtrack (although I have to grit my teeth somewhat when I'm listening to "Popular"). DX

So far my favorite songs (not in any order) are:

"No One Mourns the Wicked" (entertaining)
"The Wizard and I" (cool)
"What Is This Feeling?" (fun!)
"I'm Not That Girl" (pretty)
"Defying Gravity" (awesome; probably my second-favorite)
"No Good Deed" (dramatic and awesome! My favorite!)

It's too bad I can't find a karaoke for "What is this Feeling?" because that would make a great scene to do for a variety show.












For those of you who haven't heard the music and are curious, don't let Kristen Chenoweth's voice discourage you. It almost discouraged me, but it was worth it, and I even came to enjoy it. But I suggest holding off on listening to "Popular" until you've gotten used to it, otherwise you'll be going, "Aargh, my ears!" XD;

This better not depress me.

 

I haven't been watching the anime of Naruto: Shippuuden lately, because I wanted to wait for the manga business with Sasuke to end (since the anime was apparently at a rough time for me). But I just checked my friend askerian's journal and discovered something I (and many other people) hoped to never ever see again:




I can't find a good enough mood icon to indicate how I feel.

So the lists I've been adding to have reached the numbers 365 and 180 (and I'm writing this entry in a break of adding to the list). The first list is the one that's growing faster than I thought it would. So how do I fix it? By making yet another list (right now I have a total of 6 lists, so the next one will be 7); I noticed that a lot of the stories I've been adding to the lists have a common aspect, so I'll be sticking some of those stories under that one instead.

It may not sound like a big deal, but I'm kind of a list fanatic. I like lists, so it's a big organizational problem of trying to remember which titles fall under the category. >_< Also, I like to save fics to my computer so I can read them on my own time and I don't have to worry about having to find them again when someone changes their penname or if I just have a hard time finding the stories. And while I have a lot of computer time (sort of), I don't always have internet, so this way I can read the stories if there's no internet available. ^_^ Now that I'm making another list, I'm gonna have to move a bunch of them and change their numbers to keep them in order. x_x My work is never done!! (Yeah, that's work to me.)

The current numbers, by the way, are: 15   73   70   76   365 and 180. There used to be categories for each, but they got muddied, so that's why I only add to the last two; the rest is pretty much fixed (unless they go down as I read each story). I noticed too late that I slipped something that could have its own category into the big list.
And for anyone who's interested, the first number is small because that's the list I'm currently going through. Originally it was 52, but now I've read a lot of those stories. ^_^

. . . . This is why I don't do drugs or alcohol or smoking: I get easily addicted to stuff as it is -- junk food, reading, fanfiction, manga, computers, typing, internet, soda pop, chocolate, Naruto, lists . . . I'm a danger to myself (I'm currently snacking on pretzels and have almost finished the whole bag).

4-2-08, 7:55pm = (*whew*) Okay, I just weeded out some of the stories for the other list. I'll have the numbers in a little bit.

4-2-08, 8:58pm = DONE! (*pant*pant*) The new list consists of 120 stories. As for the one I shortened, it's now down to 245. That's 120 stories I've moved. O_O;

The image you see to the left is my new default userpic. Before it was just a simples cut and resize of the shot in the anime, but this time I did something with colors and contrast. No biggie, really, but it's more vivid.
